My little brother got married today. While I didn't want to get in the photographer's way, I did take some pictures...you know how I am! I took mostly detail shots of different little things, but didn't take any of the ones that the photographer set up. If I were the one shooting the wedding, I think that would bother me, so I didn't want to be rude. I did, however, get out there with the guy and stage some of the shots of the groom and his men for the guy. And, if he's a good shot, then there will definitely be some good ones! It was quite fun!
So, why am I so excited? Why did I put like three question marks? Something I rarely do. Because my cousin, Nikki, who went to photography school and is good at what she does, asked me to be her second at her weddings in 2011! Yippee! She said that she had seen my work and that she liked it! It was very validating...I grabbed her and kissed her in my excitement. She's probably still trying to figure out what hit her!
I have said that I would not want to shoot weddings because those are some pretty important memories and I wouldn't want to screw the shots up, but this is the perfect opportunity to get my foot in the proverbial door!
I think that's all for now, but I'll be back later to share some of the shots from my Bubba's wedding.

Family
While I was on maternity leave earlier this year, a new English teacher was hired in my building. I did not meet Renee until April, but it feels like we have been friends for a long time. We freak each other out with how similar we are; we like to scrapbook, make jewelry and so many other things we do are alike.
I was thrilled when she asked me to photograph her family! I know her life is hectic as she has two energetic boys. But they are fun to hang out with.
Beautiful!
David, this is for you! See what I mean about energetic?
He was great at posing himself for cute pictures...it made it easier for me!
Brotherly love! Love the excitement in their faces!
Kevin wasn't too sure about me to begin with.
But he warmed up!
He's such a happy boy!
Life with kids is always fun!
I even managed to sneak a peek at a few of the couple's quieter moments.
Renee, you have a wonderful family. Thank you for letting me capture a moment in your lives.

Upcoming Shoot
It has been difficult to get started here lately. With me having a full time job plus two children that I care for mostly on my own, it has been tough to find the time to do photo shoots. I'm limited to weekends and evenings, but with the days getting shorter, evenings won't be an option before too long. But I am very excited to be photographing a baby boy this coming Saturday. My friend, Anna, her husband, and little Elijah (love the name ;)) are meeting me and we're going to take some pictures of their sweet family. I'll be back very soon to share!
